Stroke

Hi Everyone,
My fellow group members and I will be presenting our topic, Stroke, this Monday (9/30). Below I have posted a link to a website the gives a general overview on what stroke is. It explains the main types of strokes, who is at risk, causes, symptoms, etc. I hope this background information will be helpful and useful to you while you are reading the articles Dr. Cohen has posted. :)

This was a really good summary of what a stroke is! I did not know a lot of what was explained in the website. For example, I did not know that birth control could raise the risk of stroke. Do you know why that is?

Inflammablog7 is the seventh Blog made specially to be shared by two courses at two schools: PSIO 495 at University of Arizona in Tucson, and IMMU 7630 at University of Colorado School of Medicine in Denver. PSIO is a colloquium on inflammation and IMMU is a lecture course on immunology for graduate students. You can visit the Original Inflammablog, Inflammablog2, Inflammablog3, Inflammablog4, Inflammablog5, and Inflammablog6.

Inflammablog7 is the place to post short reviews about selected subjects in immunology, inflammation, and infection, and have them commented on (and possibly even improved) by classmates and colleagues. It is managed by John Cohen in Denver, and Zoë Cohen in Tucson. We urge students in either course to comment on the postings by their classmates and by the students in the other course.

And we invite anyone out there in the Blogosphere to comment, though as always we'll edit or delete spam, rudeness, or off-topic comments.

We particularly want this to be a place to practice clear, friendly communication to people who have a background in science, but are not experts in this particular area. Sort of the Café Scientifique crowd.
